All in Alum

This works best for sensitive skin. Phitkari (Alum) is an excellent antiseptic and at the same time its used for brightening complexion. Boil one liter of water with 2 to 3 medium size of phitkari. Let the water cool and if you water even chill it in fridge. Wash your face with this. This is supposed to lighten your skin tone.

Alum - English Translation
Paditkaram - Tamil Translation

This is also great for throat infection. Gargle with warm alum water and its supposed to cure tonsils, and throat infection.

You will get this in medical stores or even some grocery stores. If you cant find it, ask any road side Barber, where he found his. All of them keep one.

Cool it

Did you know that onions which add flavour have an amazing medicinal value too. Onions are supposed to cool down the body heat. Yes, which is why it is often served in salads or simply as an add on. Include it in slads, raitas, or just eat it plain with your with you meal. (Not to forget, your mouthwash before you step out, else you will be too cool to handle).

Interestingly Honey too is supposed to cool you down. Now I dont mean the "loved one" honey, but the real one. Add it to your desserts or just your night time milk instead of sugar and it is supposed to also help in a good night sleep.

I use, I Like..so I recommend

I have been using "Lotus brand - Lemon and Turmeric Cleansing milk" for the last 2 weeks. I can see some amazing results. The moment you use it the amazing fragrance of lemon lingers on and it brightened up my face by atleast 1 shade. Esp because it has lemon in it.

After a face wash, pat dry your face let some moisture to be ther on the face. Take little cleansing milk on the palm and massage your face in circular motions for 2 mins to 5 mins. and wipe off with a moist cotton or just splash some water and wipe off with soft towel. Its really refreshing. It cost me Rs. 195 bucks and I think it will last 2 months maybe even 3 so it works out to Rs.60 per month. Very economical. I will recommend this product especially for oily skin like mine.
